Obviously, I am going to tell you a story…

Like many people I see out there, I’ve read Russell Brunson’s trilogy—DotCom Secrets, Expert Secrets, and Traffic Secrets; Copyright Secrets too.

But wait, if you haven’t read these books, click on the links to get your free copies (just pay shipping).

So I’d read them, but I didn’t really have something to put all that knowledge into.

Last year, a friend of mine with a struggling coaching business asked me to look at his website. It was clear the real problem wasn’t the website at all—it was the stories. The most important part of Expert Secrets focuses on telling stories to your dream customers. My friend wasn’t telling any stories. He was offering his coaching services without a pathway that his dream customers could connect their hearts to. It was pretty clear that no one would ever purchase this way (and nobody was).

With a story, he could meet his customers where they are—in a place full of emotion, confusion, and doubt, with no solution in sight.

My friend had the solution but no story, so his dream customers would never believe it.

We now know that this was the key for my friend—tell stories that would make his dream customers see him as their guide and his coaching offers as the path to their success. As entrepreneurs, we need stories that can make someone feel something, to show them that we understand their pain, their frustrations, their worries, and to help them believe there is a way forward. This is how someone changes inside, then they take action.

The books, however, don’t explain how to specifically write the story. Click Funnels’ One Funnel Away Challenge helped—it’s a great tool to begin learning about sales funnels and really brings the books to life. My friend, like most people, needed something more step-by-step, from start to finish. So I dug in, and after some blood, sweat, and tears, created a method for him to write the type of stories he needed for his sales funnels and offers.

Now, his business is thriving…

The method that I developed is the Fire Came Later (FCL) Framework. It’s a unique, step-by-step approach for you to conceptualize, structure, and write stories that create belief—belief in you as the guide and your offers as the path to their success.

Is it time for you to join the community of FCL storytellers to create that same type of belief that my friend did for your dream customers?

Let me ask you a few questions.

  • As an entrepreneur, who is your dream customer that has been looking for a guide?
  • Can you tell stories that will show them you are that guide?
  • Can your stories lead them to your offers—the path they should take to their success?

If not, now is your chance to do something about it.

The Secret to Better Storytelling

The one critical idea you must master to write better stories—and it’s not what you think. Don’t try to write another story until you learn this one secret.

Now is your time. Every day you fail to tell the right kinds of stories is a day lost—lost revenue, lost customers, and lost impact in the world. Don’t lose another day.

Founder, Fire Came Later

P.S. Why the name Fire Came Later? In human evolution, it’s clear we were storytellers long before we had invented fire. As we say and believe, fire came later, storytelling came first. This is our mantra, tell the story first—the fire will come later. (H/T to Emotive Storytelling for the inspiration…)
